The best CFLAGS for the best preformance (desktop)

Hi i'm currently using a intel pentium 4 , and after reading some of the topic's about CFLAGS.... well it confused me , so my questoin is now
what are the best flags to use.

I can understand you if you find the CFLAGS Central a bit messy...

Personally I'd go with a safe "-march=pentium3 -mcpu=pentium4 -O2 -pipe" and if you want -fomit-frame-pointer too. If you want a more in-depth study of your case you should ask in the Central (and probably get contradictory answers since CFLAGS are a matter of taste too... )

For pentium4 also this thread might be interesting.
