We need more users to become developers for the scheme herd.

I thought of going through all the scheme bugs in bugzilla and mass-mailing those users who have reported scheme related bugs. Perhaps that is something user reps might consider?

Ok, so I just wrote an ebuild for Gambit-c and attached it to bug 135551 when I saw this message.

Now, this is the first ebuild I ever played with, I have no idea what it takes to create an ebuild, and I felt dirty writing this one as I had to kludge it all to hell and I really wanted someone to look it over before checking it in. That being said, I might be willing to support gambit-c, as I have a vested interest in keeping it up to date, but I have neither the time nor the expertise to be the 1 man "scheme herd".

so:
1) Where can I get a code review on this ebuild, as I don't trust it; it feels kludgie and there is probably a better way to do it.
2) How do I start the process of getting the education and access required to add this to portage?

Prodding a developer might help.
