hello everyone,

i got a samba server running and have several problems with the windows clients (4x win2000 pro), connecting to the server and opening/working with the ms access mdbs. all clients open the databases fine, but when trying to close it, the client software often keeps crashing..im not sure yet wether the data is lost in that moment or not, still trying to analyse that.

i tried to enable this by setting "veto oplock files = /*.mdb/" in the global section of my smb.conf

right now, all clients access the samba server with the same username and password...do i need to change this to get oplock working fine?
with that veto oplock line, how do the clients write the mdb? they write any changes directly in the mdb, without local caching?

http://de.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba3-ByExample/appendix.html#ch12-SUIDSGID
there is something about a registry key change for winxp and win2000... if im not mistaken i have to edit these, to get oplock working properly, right? just want to make sure...

Clients write directly in the mdb file. The locking info is kept in the .mdl file. Anything special set about that file?
