Hi.
I'm trying to create a Gentoo Live CD. I can get a working iso image but I have just one little issue.
I've added autoconfig to the default runlevel. It brings the card up, which broadcasts for an IP address and gets one. However some net.ethx script also runs a little while after that and makes the card inactive:
Code: | /etc/init.d/net.eth0 status
* status: inactive |
The card has no IP address anymore
Code: | # ifconfig eth0
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 52:54:00:12:34:56
UP BROADCAST NOTRAILERS RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:4 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:10 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:1399 (1.3 Kb) TX bytes:1682 (1.6 Kb)
Interrupt:11 Base address:0xc100 |
BTW In the log window, I can see the card gets its IP address and then I see the rc-script log message "No configuration defined, assuming DHCP", which is triggered by net.eth0. On a normal installation I get the sequence the other way round.
Is there something I did wrong? _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...
