Technically, being an amarok question, I should put this in multimedia, but I think the problem is more with my kde libs (I'm running amarok on gnome). Anyway, one day, when I was just minding my own business, amarok stopped loading. When I tried to run it from the command line, I got the following:
Code: |
Invalid entry (missing '=') at /home/user/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals:1
Invalid entry (missing '=') at /home/user/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals:2
Invalid entry (missing '=') at /home/user/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals:1
Invalid entry (missing '=') at /home/user/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals:2
Invalid entry (missing '=') at /home/user/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals:1
Invalid entry (missing '=') at /home/user/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals:2
Invalid entry (missing '=') at /home/user/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals:1
Invalid entry (missing '=') at /home/user/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals:2
kbuildsycoca running...
Invalid entry (missing '=') at /home/user/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals:1
Invalid entry (missing '=') at /home/user/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals:2
|
Then a little box pops up that say "rebuilding database" and then crash.
If I run kbuildsycoca from the command line, I get:
Code: |
Warning: kbuildsycoca is unable to register with DCOP.
kbuildsycoca running...
...
kbuildsycoca: WARNING: '/usr/share/applications/mplayer.desktop' specifies undefined mimetype/servicetype 'video/x-fli'
kbuildsycoca: WARNING: '/usr/share/applications/mplayer.desktop' specifies undefined mimetype/servicetype 'video/vnd.vivo'
...
|
In the ...'s, I get a few more of the missing = errors, and then the final mimetype error i get about 800 times for what looks like every mimetype on my system, and program associated with it.
If you have any idea how to get around this, I'd be much obliged.
Thanks
EDIT: Managed to fix it by deleting my .kde folder, re running amarok, and then copying over my old .kde/share/apps/amarok folder to the new one. Seems to have done the trick. |
