Samba (smbd)" I/O possible" What is that ?

Since I "upgraded" my fileserver to a small VIA Eden fanless box, I am having problems with Samba.

The problem is that smbd quits with the message "I/O possible" when copying a file to the server. The strange thing is that while it can run for a day without problem, it may also give nothing but problems, which is the normal case.

Reading files from the server has never been a problem. nfs works without any noticable problem as well.


Any hints appreciated, I'm lost..
