Hi!!
I have an AMD 64 X2 and a PIV 3.0. After an update, the same error happened. When I try to "startx" I have this error:

(EE) module ABI major version (0) doesn't match the server's version (1)
(EE) failed to load module "fglrx" (module requirement mismatch, 0 )
(EE) no drivers available.
Fatal server error:
no screens found
...

I in both have ati graphic cards ( in AMD an x1900GT and a ati radeon 9200 in PIV ).
I was happy running my gentoo box before the update and now I can't enter in my desktop. Why?

Did you re-emerge the ati-drivers after the update? (do so if you haven't)
