I am a Linux scripting newbie, so need some handholding with this.
MY ISP forces download limits on me, between certain hours of the day. I am looking at a script to throttle certain ports, between certain hours.
I have all the required ipchains stuff in my kernel, but not the knowledge on how to sort the rest out. Wonding if a kind Guru could help out.
Thanks. |

I don't have time for handholding, but I can get you on your way:

complete guide for limiting/shaping traffic
- http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.adv-filter.html#LARTC.ADV-FILTER.U32
http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.qdisc.filters.html
for selecting the ports and setting the limits, respectivly
