I dont know exactly waht I did but I dont think its good. This is my output after emerging device-mapper.

EDITED: I think when i copied the stage files over they all didnt make it cause i downloaded an incomplete tar file. i reinstalled and everything is working fine.

Have you run revdep-rebuild lately? It's in gentoolkit and it's worth a shot if things don't work well.
