Die Überschrift sollte eigentlich schon alles sagen... was ist besser (==flame on), was sind die Vor- und Nachteile der beiden Systeme bzw. Useflags? Zum System: ich will einen IMAP-Server für einige GB an Mails aufsetzen... (vielleicht hilft das was weiter)

Ich suche vor dem Posten in einem Forum immer in Newsgroups, Foren und Google, nur habe ich in diesem Falle nichts sinnvolles gefunden! Erst nach dem Posting hier habe ich aber auf http://www.courier-mta.org/mbox-vs-maildir/ einen sehr guten Performanc-Vergleich gefunden. Und http://www.decisionsoft.com/pdw/mailbench.html hat dann noch eines draufgesetzt - da ich reiserfs verwende ist es maildir geworden!

ich verwende prinzipiell nur maildir. das format ist mir einfach sympathischer und hat auch im bezug auf backups einige vorteile finde ich.
