I emerged Galeon 1.3.4 (with Mozilla 1.3) and it works ok except that I can't clear the history. The only way to delete the history from Galeon is to manually delete the history.xml file in ~/.galeon.

I asked abou this in the gnomesupport.org forums but they couldn't help me. Has anyone seen this kind of behavior with Galeon before?

Yeah. There's no option in 1.3.3 to delete history either. You can empty cache but not delete history.

It's annoying. At least now I know where the actual file is. ;)

thanks.

I meant to say that when I open the history dialog (CTRL+H) and click on clear it clears the history, but when I start Galeon the next time all the history is there, like it has never been deleted (which is what happens, cause the history.xml file remains unchanged).

Is this what happens to you? It is very annoying.

This really bugs me. There is no native, working, stable browser for GNOME. Mozilla has a really annoying problem that it opens full screen and I have to provide -height and -width argument to force it not to open full screen. And it's not well integrated with GNOME. Phoenix is not integrated and can't handle mailto: links, Epiphany isn't really functional yet, and Galeon has this history problem.

Besides, am I the only one here who thinks embedding Mozilla is a bad idea? Why can't someone write a Gecko based browser for GNOME like K-Meleon or Camino?
