Odd X copy buffer behavior in openoffice

I'm using app-office/openoffice-bin-2.0.3. Anyone else notice that, when hihghlighting text by clicking and dragging, only a portion of it ends up in the X copy buffer (ie. what gets pasted with the middle mouse button)? I'm running wmcliphist, so it's easy to see what's getting copied, and this happens almost without exception. Really annoying.

I found a work around. If I click at the beginning and then shift-click at the end to select it works, but dragging almost always stops after either a few characters or at most a word or so. I've never seen this in any other app that allows test entry.
