Hi,
I'm newish to gentoo and have been using kde2.2.2 for about a month now and was wondering how to install kde3. emerge search "kde3" doesn't find anything. Yesterday i upgraded gentoo to version 1 but i still can seem to find the build scripts for kde3.. where are they?
Thanks for any help |

The Gentoo folks make AWESOME documentation for such things. Go to the main page and click to the article about desktop environments.
In short, type 'emerge kde' and wait many, many hours. Also, 'emerge xfree' will install the X server so you can use a non-text version. |

Make sure and run 'emerge rsync', then try 'emerge -s kde'. It should show version 3.0. _________________ - Kyle Manna
