Samba winbind problem

I am attempting to connect my Gentoo machine to a PDC for authentication and file sharing. I followed this wiki entry: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Add_a_gentoo_server_to_a_windows_network

And it works fine up until I run the wbinfo stuff. wbinfo -u returns all the user names on the PDC as it should, but wbinfo -g returns "Error looking up domain groups". Also, getent passwd shows what it should, but getent group only shows local groups. I have been banging my head on my desk over this for 2 days now, so any suggestion would be appreciated.
