Hello,

I hope this is the right forum for this. I have a gentoo box (amd pc based) at a server provider which also provides serial console access. I connect via ssh to the RCA which will bring me to the serial console on my box.

However, each time I connect via ssh, I am back to the serial console login. As I work professionally with SUN/FSC hardware, I'd like to have the same behavior being able to disconnect from the RCA but the serial console session still running. I wonder if this is something I can configure or a functionality in the RCA which I cannot control.

Below is my /etc/inittab

Thanks for any suggestions :)

Code:

# Default runlevel.
id:3:initdefault:

# System initialization, mount local filesystems, etc.
si::sysinit:/sbin/rc sysinit

# Further system initialization, brings up the boot runlevel.
rc::bootwait:/sbin/rc boot
