i'm very new at gentoo so forgive me if i'm asking stupid questions.
But i just installed gentoo with a networkless install. now i'm trying to update the system.
i first tried to install the nvidia drivers. then the portage system downloaded de kernel sources 2.6.18-rc2 but i'm still using 2.6.17-gentoo-r7.
If it's possible i would like to contineu working with de new kernel. Unfortunatly i don't know how i'm able to do that?
is it easy with the portage system? maybe someone can point me to a place where i can start looking(learning)? |

This is probably the best bet in terms of using the gentoo kernel schema's. There are alternatives to using the gentoo sources, such as vanilla and mm if you are willing to handle the overlay. Hope this helps. |
