|
|
Hi!
Whenever I run updates on the gentoo boxes that I administer I sometimes ask myself (especially when there is no real version bump, but only a rX added) why this was done. Is there a place where I can look up why a specific version of software was updated in the portage tree, e.g. the kernel sources (I'm especially interested in info if the update fixes a specific vulnerability).
Thanks,
Christoph |

Well you could read the changelog for that package which is included in the portage tree. _________________ Research before taking any advice from me. I'm still coming to grips with this myself. |

I find that this has to do with ebuild/portage fixes as such. |

Indeed. And you can use emerge -pl package-to-be-updated to see that. _________________ "Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves." - Abraham Lincoln

An easy way to check online is the package list. |
