I'm running a dual head system (freshly reinstalled) using:
gnome 2.14
xorg-server 1.1.1-r1
metacity 2.14.5
and after the usual 3 days of setting up, my system is now how I want it..
exept for the most annoying "feature" (yes, we're talking winxp class feature) I've ever seen..
the screen in focus is the one with the mouse in it..
sound normal right?
well... no actually, I have a tendancy to like seeing the stuff in the textboxes, the stuff I'm typing in..
maybe it's a bad habit but I tend to throw the mouse onto the other screen to get it out of the way when I type, this shifts the focus to the other screen and off the window I'm trying to type in..
i've no idea where to start.. is this metacity? xorg? gnome? _________________ Linux registered user: 374844

Definitely your window manager - in Fluxbox for example you can choose one of 5 'focus models' - one of them being "click to focus" - look for that kind of setting. |

thought it would be a metacity thing, but after googling I can only seem to find gconf configs for keybindings and window focus..
but nothing for screen focus.. actually I'm looking dor something in the line of no screen focus, just windows.. but without xinerama..
It worked no prob before I reinstalled so it's probably due to the metacity update..
does anyone know where the config files are so I can look at them manually? _________________ Linux registered user: 374844
