GFX-Card-Freeze --- Supersonic M6 --- Ati Mobility Radeon

Hi,

the Gericom Supersonic M6(P3,1200Mhz, Ati Radeon Mobility M6) has some problems with is gfx-card.
It just works fine with windows when you use the vga driver and not the ati-radeon driver.

No i am running Gentoo and i can only use the framebuffer mode. Because the laptop will halt(freezes screen and everything) after a few minutes depending on my behaviour(like surfing). I tried the vga, vesa and radeon drivers but every time the same.

i think it is hardware problem, but it can be solved without using the specific ati-radeon interrupts.

i read something about deactivating "Write Combining" under windows and it will work with the normal radeon drivers, but i dont know where to set this option in my Xorg.conf.


Any ideas or own experences?
