Hello all,
so finally i took the pluge to seeing some eye-candy on my XFCE 4.2.3.2. I cannot really see a difference in any application being slower than it was before enabling composite, exept video playback.
When playing video in fullscreen mode it gets *very* choppy. The interesting thing is that when playing in a window no choppyness can be seen. I have checked CPU usage with "top" I see X eating up all the CPU resources (99%). What's the deal here?
My Config is:
Pentium 4 Northwood 2.6GHz HT CPU
Geforce4 MX 440 AGPx8 64MB VGA
1 GB RAM
While not completely up to date I would say this should hold up it's own in playing back videos: Code: | VIDEO: [DX50] 640x480 24bpp 23.976 fps 852.7 kbps (104.1 kbyte/s)
Clip info:
Software: Nandub v1.0rc2
