Hi!
Some time ago, my computer didn't shutdown anymore - it always hung at "Remounting filesystems readonly".
Then I noticed that the light on my computer that signalised hard drive activity was shining constantly after the harddrives had been checked, although I didn't hear any disk access.
And today my computer didn't even start up anymore because it hung just after the checking of filesystems, and guess what - the hard drive activity light was on again.
So I tend to believe that something in this computer is on crack. Do you know what?

After looking through some threads, I think baselayout could be the culprit of the problem. I have downgraded it to 1.12.5-r2. I will (probably) report back if it worked. |

Okay, I think it's because of a broken harddrive. |
