Possible scenarios:
1. Firefox uses some other program. In this case go to preferences -> downloads -> View & Edit actions, and change the program used to open pdf files to xpdf.
2. FIrefox uses some other program by default, and in View & Edit actions the pdf extension is not listed: open a new tab and type about:config at the url. set the
browser.download.hide_plugins_without_extensions to false, and reopen the View & Edit actions dialog.
3. Firefox gives a "open with/ save to disk" dialog: Set xpdf as the default program by setting the "open with" to xpdf (xpdf is in /usr/bin/xpdf) and then click on "do this from now on" or something similar that is present at the bottom of that dialog. |
