|
|
Sometimes I have 2 connections on my computer, like my eth0 and ra0 both connected to different networks or eth0 on a network and a vpn device tunnled through it.
I know I can select which connection to use to access WLAN (since both provide access to internet) setting the default gateway using route.
But I'd like to know how could I run 2 applications at the same time each one using a different gateway to access the internet.
Example:
Have Firefox access through eth0 (cabled connection) and Opera access through ra0 (wireless connection).
Is there something I can set up before fire'ing an application so it uses a different gateway from the defined in route?
Thanks |

as long as you can differentiate on a source ip and/or (destination) port level you can use iproute2 to handle traffic based on those.
If this isn't possible you could use a proxy on one of the links (and have one of the browsers configured to use it and the other goes direct) _________________ Nothing is secure / Security is always a trade-off with usability / Do not assume anything / Trust no-one, nothing / Paranoia is your friend / Think for yourself |
