|
|
Hi everybody.
I read a lot of docs [probably not enough], read all the topics concerning samba and printing in the different gentoo forums and still i am unsuccessful by trying to print from my windows box [98] to my gentoo one.
My windows box sees the printer from my gentoo pc, but after installing the [windows] driver, i have an error: there is no communication with the printer.
Need help, please....
Thank you

I presume your using cups. If so and you have your printer working under linux then just follow the instructions here and that should have you all set. Worked like a charm for me. Note that you have to use postscript printer drivers on the windows box, not your printer dirver if you have an inkjet or other winprinter. If you set your gentoo box up to export the driver then it works great. Just beware there are different driver versions for different versions of windows. |
