I made an ebuild for wget 1.9-beta (source is from CVS)--I've been using it for a while and it seems stable. More interestingly, I've taken a bunch of patches for wget (not written by me) and made a combined patch that has them all working together nicely. The ebuild for wget applies them, and they also seem to be working well. Some of the patches add some pretty cool features--see the list at the bottom.
The easiest way to install this is to download wget-1.9_beta.tar.bz2, and extract it to /usr/local/portage/ (or whatever PORTDIR_OVERLAY is). It'll extract all the files to net-misc/wget.
Alternatively, you can just download the ebuild and patch. Then, put the ebulid in net-misc/wget and the patch in net-misc/wget/files. Note that the bzip has most of the patches as seperate files (you could then only apply the ones you want).
Let me know any problems/suggestions/comments you might have.
Patches included in combined.patch:
- path_simplify() segfault fix
- option to force clobbering of files
- fix for escape chars used in dirs
- option to save cookies between sessions
- option to disable dns caching (for dyndns)
- option to create dirs based on protocol
- option to ignore cgi downloads
- fix to speed up FTP LIST
- prevent wget form downloading insecure filenames
- fix to fetch hidden files with recursive FTP
- allow --wait to accept fractional seconds _________________ -- Andy |
