I cannot get a reasonable screen screen resolution with nvidiafb booting with GRUB; I'm always stuck with 640x480. I've tried the following: Code: | vga=792 video=nvidiafb:ywrap
video=nvidiafb:1024x768@60,ywrap
video=nvidiafb:1024x768-32@60,ywrap | I've also tried using the table in the Handbook, but to no avail. I also can use fbset to change the resolution without it complaining.
Does anyone know how to do this properly? _________________ [ Kawa-kun, new and improved!! ]

Try the documentation for nvidiafb in your kernel docs or any sites detailing it specific use? _________________ Trust is a weakness |

have you tried to simply use a vesa framebuffer?
i never had luck with my ati card and the appropriate fb.
vesa gives me 128 columns and 48 linux on the console.
i use lilo and have set vga=791. |

# | There are also no results for "*nv*, or "*fb*" | grep -i nv.
I've searched on Google, and nearly every site says to stay away from it when using the nVidia binary driver, to generally stay away from accelerated framebuffers, or has an unanswered question; kind of like this thread.
In the end, I realized that one must place the screen resolution at the end of the fb: line, and anything above 800x600 is extremely distorted, and the driver will generally ignore refresh rates given. _________________ [ Kawa-kun, new and improved!! ]
