yeah.. big thumbs up to gtkradient.. it's pretty much the only editor people use in both Linux and Windows for the last few years or so. (radiant itself has been around since q1)

i used it a lot in mandrake but i have not in a while, since then i switched to gentoo and sadly there is no ebuild for gtkradient, can anyone make one (i don't know how yet) the fact it is binary only may make it easyer, or maybe not. i'm not sure.

Sorry for kicking this topic, but I just begun using gtkradiant (1.3.11) for enemy-territory mapmaking, I know the unreal editor very well and while gtkradiant and the quake-engines work somewhat different (creating instead of cutting) I have one question which I cant find an answer to:

I've pointed gtkradiant to my et dir and it starts up fine, but none of the textures gets rendered in the 3d preview windows, I dont think this is normal but most tutorials and problems start past this point so I cant find how I can use the default texture set of ET.

Someone a suggestion how I can load these textures (I can see all the texture names fine but all the say are "shader image missing")

You probalby have to edit the path radiant looks for you game... Change it to /opt/quake3 or whatever it is.

Anyway:

My q3map2 always segfaults when i try to compile a map. I have the newest version from: http://shaderlab.com/

Has anyone got the same problem??

Finally i got everything working. Q3map2 has to be called with an abolute path, on my system, otherwise it segfaults....

No a new problem has come to occur: My right mouse button does not work as intended in GTKRadiant anymore, i cannot add any entities with the context menu, because there is no context menu. Anyone had thsi before?? I use 1.5.0 of radiant

Creating pk3 files ist easy, just Zip the filder with your map and it's textures. Rename to *.pk3

There are some guidelines (google) how the filders have to be named...

Any ideas about the right mousebutton thing?? Do u use GTKRadiant? 1.5.0?
