Hallo :-)
Wie mir meine Freundin berichtet, funktioniert das Einhängen von z. B. einem USB-Stick per Doppelklick auf das entsprechende KDE-Desktop-Gerätesymbol nicht mehr (nicht, daß ich das so machen würde ;-), es kommt die Meldung "Diese Funktion ist nur mit HAL verfügbar". Jetzt ist HAL aber installiert; und kdebase bzw. kdedesktop haben auch keinen "hal"-Useflag. Woran liegt's also, daß das (seit dem Update auf KDE-3.5.5?) nicht mehr funktioniert? Bzw. was muß ich tun, damit es wieder geht?

Das liegt wahrscheinlich am update auf dbus-1 (wenn du das in der testing-Version installiert hast wurde das aktualisiert).
Dass dein Automount wieder geht einfach von hal + pmount die Testing-Versionen nehmen + revdep-rebuild (welches dann das alles entscheidende kdebase-kioslaves installiert).
Wenn es dem nicht so ist wäre interessant, welche Änderungen in den letzten Tagen am System durchgeführt wurden. (Updates, Konfig geändert, etc)

| Soll ja eigentlich kein Automount sein ... man soll eben nur durch einen Doppelklick aufs entsprechende Icon eine CD oder einen USB-Stick einhängen können. Also im Prinzip wie ein mount /media/usb oder sowas. Hat bisher immer funktioniert, d. h. das Gerät wurde laut /etc/fstab eingehängt. |

kdebase bzw. kdebase-kioslaves haben sehr wohl ein hal Use Flag.

außedem gibts dbus und hal (hald) als init.d Script... evtl läufts nicht.

Hallo allerseits!
Ich habe das gleiche Problem wie Libby.
Wenn ich die Tipps befolge und hal, dbus und pmount auf ~x86 schalte, bekomme ich beim revdep-rebuild folgende Meldung:

Das lustige ist, daß diese Meldung sowohl mit als auch ohne useflag qt3 kommt.
