I just started having problems mounting my HP M305 camera (with an SD card). Of course, it used to work just fine. Below is the dmesg of when the camera is plugged in.
Code:

scsi11 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
usb-storage: device found at 13
usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning
Vendor: HP        Model: PhotoSmart M305   Rev: No.1

SCSI device sda: 248224 512-byte hdwr sectors (127 MB)
sda: Write Protect is off
sda: Mode Sense: 87 00 00 08
sda: assuming drive cache: write through
SCSI device sda: 248224 512-byte hdwr sectors (127 MB)
sda: Write Protect is off
sda: Mode Sense: 87 00 00 08
sda: assuming drive cache: write through
 sda: unknown partition table
sd 11:0:0:0: Attached scsi removable disk sda
sd 11:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg0 type 0
usb-storage: device scan complete

When trying to mount or access /dev/sda in any way (like using fdisk) the application hangs until I either unplug or power off the camera. Below is dmesg
Code:

hdd: cdrom_pc_intr: The drive appears confused (ireason = 0x01). Trying to recover by ending request.

I don't see how hdd, my DVD drive, has anything to do with this. Oh, I use /dev/disk/by-id/usb-HP_PhotoSmart_M305, which typically points to /dev/sda, mount the camera. For some reason, it doesn't use a partition. I was able to mount the camera with Windows, so I suspect udev is a culprit. I guess it could be the kernel, but it hasn't been undated in some time. Also, I can mount other usb mass-storage devices with Gentoo.

Any ideas?
