Hi, there! Yes I'm having YAOOPP. I recently tried several OpenOffice versions (1.0.1, 1.0.2, 1.0.3 and 1.1beta) and I'm having the same problem In all of them. I had problems before on printing but that was because I didn't RTFM (It was a PPD problem). Now my print works ok except for two problems:

a) It's terribly slow. I mean that the printer actually prints slow, not that it starts a loy to print.

b) Fonts print thick, that is thicker than they print on other apps.

I have printed on Galeon and it prints very nice, damn fast and fonts print nice. I have tried all combinations of resolution in OpenOffice but I always get the same result. I'm using a HP Deskjet 940C and CUPS. Is this a fail in OO or is it a configuration issue? On the other side I have to use OO because os cross-platform needs. Can this be due to the fact that I'm printing with Verdan font? (It prints correctly on Windows) I think I have installed it correctly since it shows well on all my apps... Any help is welcome.

P.D.: I have also installed the fonts in the spadmin utility.

Hi all, solved this!! I found the solution in what i thought was apperantly an unrelated bug:

http://www.openoffice.org/project/www/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=4532

From the webpage above:

Quote:
You have to do the 'psfontcache'-trick also in the network
installation directory: from issue 4366:

Just do a
rm pspfontcache
touch pspfontcache
chmod 444 pspfontcache
in the user/psprint directory of a user installation or in the
share/psprint directory otherwise.

I did it in both and it works now.

*** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 4366 ***

Now OpenOffice really rocks!!!

Hope this helps somebody!
