Problema avvio GPM

Non riesco ad avviare GPM semplicemente digitando quanto segue:

init.d # gpm start


Infatti ottengo il seguente errore:

O0o.oops(): [gpm.c(979)]:please use -m /dev/mouse -t protocol

L'impressione è quella che il sistema non prenda in considerazione il file di configurazione, infatti se provo ad avviare l'applicativo come suggerito dall' errore funziona correttamente. Ecco quanto ho digitato per avviare GMP:

 # gpm -m /dev/psaux -t ps2


Il mio vero problema viene quando voglio aggiundere gpm al run level di default. Qualcuno sa spiegarmi questo strano comportamento?
