So, we have a network management station that's hooked up to a big flatscreen for system graphs and other prettiness. What I'd like is something like a transparent screensaver. So, after X minutes, X will lock the screen, but continue to display the screen. So, all my pretty graphs are still viewable, but someone can't use the system until they unlock it with a password.
I know that Windows has this concept, but I can't find it for the life of me for Linux, but I just might not be looking in the right place. _________________ I was born with a freakin' dice bag on my belt.

i wish there were something similar too...
here s a crap way of doing it:
you condemn your keyboard changing a config entry in xorg.conf
as only root is able to modify it, no one could access the keyboard...
crappy crappy crap, isnt it? |

If I remember correctly, xtrlock does that, it only changes your mouse cursor to a lock... _________________ Non fa male! Non fa male! |
