I was just wondering if anyone knew how to deal with this error:
dfb.c <48>
(#) DirectFBError [dfb->GetDisplayLayer( dfb, DLID_PRIMARY, &layer)]: Invalid argument(s)!

I searched everywhere on the forum, and didn't find a reference to this error, and I searched the DirectFB cvs as well as the tgz file for a "dfb.c" but could not find one.

Even if I could find it, I have my doubts that it would be informative enough for me to figure out what my problem is. The error message is not any more detailed than that, so unfortunately all I can do is speculate.

I have a neomagic256,
kernel has nm256 framebuffer support. fbcon works fine.
directvnc and xdirectfb don't work. It can create the gui for a brief second (I see a blue screen and a giant cursor), but then it kicks me back to console, and I get that error.

I would appreciate any help someone could suggest
