I have an ECS K7S5A that I just put an old athlon 1800+ on :D The chipset is sis900 for the ethernet controller according to dmesg. I compiled the right driver in the kernel. When I start /etc/init.d/net.eth0 dhcpcd attempts to run but times out. ifconfig shows no eth0 device.

Any ideas? The livecd works just fine for it, I don't even have to run net-setup eth0. I'm absolutely confident that the driver is sis900. And the cable is plugged in just fine
