Hmm, if you're at stage-2, you still need to emerge the system right? After all the source is downloaded from portage, the software in the system package gets compiled AFAIK. So most of that 6 hours is probably spent compiling system software rather than downloading. |

I recently installed Gentoo on a Celeron 400 MHz with 128 Mb RAM and 200 Mb swap, and I timed the install process (excluding download times).
Some results were:
bootstrap: 3h31min
emerge system: 2h15min _________________ | www.gentoo.org | www.tldp.org | www.google.com | |

PIII 450 MHz, 256 MB RAM, 257 MB swap (256 ADSL connection)
bootstrap 3h
emerge system 2h 10 min
Basic install (covered in http://www.gentoo.org/doc/build.html) was ready after 7 hours, coffee breaks and reading docs included.
emerge kde (including X) took 12 hours, give or take a minute. |

About an hour, give or take 24 or so.
Actually, I have no idea, I just made a really freakin' huge command and left for the weekend. Didn't include time in the front, though... |

I'm running an Athlon XP 1700+ in a Soyo Dragon Plus mobo with 256mb ram/512 swap and it took half an hour to bootstrap and I think the emerge took 15-20 minutes
So I would imagine that it would take a while on a p150, seeing at my processor has a clockspeed almost 15x faster than that chip (not trying to get in a "my processor is better than yours" pissing match, I'm far from bleeding edge, just stating the facts).
15 x 30 minutes = 7 1/2 hour bootstrap
15 x 20 minutes = 5 hour emerge
Of course, that's not going to be entirely accurate, but it might give you an idea!
