|
|
I get this when trying to install various KDE packages:
Code: | [blocks B ] =kde-base/kdebase-3.5* (is blocking kde-base/kdesu-3.5.5) |
I have updated from KDE 3.2 to 3.5. It seems 3.5 is blocking 3.5. Any idea how to resolve this?
Thanks,

you should decide if you like to emerge the kde meta or split ebuilds.
kdesu already belongs to kdebase. |

Thanks Doc Reed Solomon. So, it means that whenever one sees that blocking message, whatever one is trying to emerge is already installed. If only the message could have been direct and clear, but that is too much to ask for.

no. it just means a blocker, exactly what it says. so user intervention is needed to clarify with yourself what you actually like.
what you actually would like to do is an "emerge -upDv world" to see whats up.
what you would *not* like to do is installing packages by the KDE Split Ebuilds.
so to speak: if you upgraded all of KDE, you are done. no need to emerge single KDE packages that are already in (likewise to kdesu in your example).
also please note that the behaviour of kdesu has changed. maybe this is your problem?
search these forums for "kdesu" and you find the changes. |
