|
|
I have emerged quake2-icculus with the xatrix and rogue use flags. However, although I start the game with "quake2 +set game xatrix" when I start a new game I get the original quake2 single player. Xatrix and rouge are mission packs, right ? So, how do I play the new missions ? |

Maybe the xatrix cd is not copied or resides in the wrong place? I played the expansion packs long ago, did it by compiling the source manually. Sorry, don't remember much. |

xatrix cd ? Do I need that ? I supposed that compiling quake2-icculus with USE="xatrix" will give me both the expansion executable code and data files. |

The data files for quake 2, and its mission packs, are not free. |

Oh, shit.
/usr/share/doc/quake2-icculus-0.16.1/README-postinstall.gz did not mention it so I thought the expansions are free ( at least in the gratis sense ). Too bad this is not the case.
Thanks for the help, everyone. |

Never thought I'd be resurrecting a thread from 2005, but I managed to get both mission packs working with qudos. It's as easy as creating folders "xatrix" and "rogue" in /usr/share/games/quake2/ and copying the respective pak0.pak files there, then running qudos with the switch +set game <pack>, just like it says in the readme file. _________________ ~g
