What fancy stuff can I get on my Radeon 9600XT? [moved]

I've been looking around a lot lately, but some of the information out there is clearly dated, some not that clearly. So I'd like to ask the question simply and directly: what of the fancy stuff (AIGLX, XGL, ...) can I get on my Ati Radeon 9600XT card? Can I still play my hardware accelerated 3D games then (dri?)? What driver do I use (xf86-video-ati? ati-drivers?) to get all of that working? I'm using ati-drivers now, dri working...

I believe you can use the open source drivers and use AIGLX with your card, not sure. Otherwise give XGL a chance, one thing though is you won't be able to play games with XGL.
