|
|
I am able to boot up the livecd and get to the gdm desktop and start the installation of gentoo, but my computer freezes up about ten minutes later each time. The fan on my laptop is not on, and I read that the module is in the kernel for controlling it. Is there any other way to turn my fan on during the intallation and to check temperature? Thanks

If the fans are not running you will damage your hardware!!!
Go to bios settings, check if there is an option to turn the fans "always on".
disable acpi by kernel boot parameter.
on the boot prompt enter
Code: |
gentoo noacpi noapic nolapic
|
and maybe some other boot options, depending on your hardware _________________ Video Encoding scripts collection | Project page |
