I've got a Gateway MX7510 with the TI card reader. I've compiled that into my kernel and dmesg shows it's there. However, when i stick a card into the slot i get what i've pasted below. It does have a /dev/sda appear but no /dev/sda1 . I've tried with 3 different SD cards and no luck on any of them. Any hints?

my information might by outdated, but SD cards are not supported in Linux. see
http://tuxmobil.org/mmc_sd_card_unix.html
for more information. some people try to come up with a driver for SD-cards, but I don't knwo how far they've come.
sorry for not proving better help. _________________ The answer is 42. But what was the question? |

Well at least that explains it a bit. The annoying thing is that people in the IRC forums have claimed that they had SD working through USB readers. I'm on vacation in another country right now and my 2 SD cards for my camera are now filled ... i really don't want to buy another card - but looks like I may have too until I can make a dual boot (or remove linux?) - neither option is really feels that good. |

It might be the particular reader. I can read/write sd cards just fine using a cheap usb multi-card reader. Not sure if there is true sd support in Linux yet or not but AFIK evey sd card is supposed to also be capable of functioning as a mmc card. |
