i was wondering what i need to do to install a desktop environment, in particular gnome. do i need to install xorg then gnome. im really not to sure where to go from here.

Well, yeah, you can do X first, but since gnome depends on X, you can install gnome and let emerge pull in all the X stuff for you. _________________ Thomas S. Howard |

generally, after you get a gentoo system working, you fiddle around

lol im sure i will run into many problems trying to set it up, actually im looking forward to it. so far i think gentoo is amazing, only having touched ubuntu before. i fell like im in complete control now. |
