KDE questions ?

hi,
I have some questions about KDE , for which i need some help.

1) I emerged KDE without alsa and later on emerged alsa.
So do i need to remerge kdemultimedia for it to support ALSA ?
The alsa seems to be working, but i can't get the kmixer to control volume ?

2) I haven't installed gnome, and all my emerges were with USE flags "-gnome -gtk".
Now if i want to install some selective gnome applications, e.g. gnomemeeting etc.
can i emerge them without emergeing entire gnome.
say something like USE="-gnome -gtk" emerge gnomemeeting
Also do i need to specify -gtk or only -gnome is enough.

1) if u emerged arts withe use="-arts" u'll need to recompile arts and i think also kdelibs but don't sure about the kdelibs thing

2) for most programs i've found that gtk it's enough don't need the all gnome .
