Grüß euch,

hab ein Problem mit X11 und den nvidia treibern auf gentoo-sources 2.6.19-r1, und zwar, die 1.0.8776 version von den nv treibern lässt sich nicht auf 2.6.19 kompilieren, gut, installier ich mir halt die ~Arch 1.0.9629 version, die sich perfekt kompilieren lässt, nur das PRoblem ist, das der X Server nur noch auf 800x600 statt die üblichen 1024x768 startet. Installier ich aber die 1.0.8776 version auf linux <2.6.19 geht alles so wie ich es will.
Meine Frage, wie kann ich das beheben, das er die Auflösung wieder ändert?

Hoff mir kann einer helfen.


PS: in /var/log/messages steht nichts auffälliges...

Synce mal, dann kriegste die nvidia-drivers-1.0.9631, welche einen Fix für den kernel-2.6.19 enthalten.

Danke für deine Antwort, ähm gleicher Fehler ist auch bei den Treibern vorhanden...

Die jetzige sieht mir ja sehr alt aus.

Ich glaube bei so geringer maximaler HSync Rate

    HorizSync   31.5 - 48.5
klappt's nicht mit höheren Auflösungen. Versucht mal den Maximalwert anzuheben oder lass die Zeile einfach weg und verlass dich auf die automatische Erkennung.

Ahoi, naja das X -configure hats nicht gebracht genau sowenig wie das HorizSync auszudokumentieren. Die /var/log/Xorg.0.log zeigt noch an:

Hoff das hilft euch weiter, weil die aelteren Treiber funktionieren tadellos.

copy that, such mal die Spezifikationen zu deinem Monitor raus und trage die Werte in deine xorg.conf ein. Am besten HorizSync und VertSync auch. Ich hatte nämlich mal ein ähnliches Problem mit einem Nokia 447XiPlus.

Ich glaub dien Monitor kann kein EDID, hatte selbes Problem....
Problem: Der nVidia Treiber versucht wohl rauszufinden, ob dein Monitor das kann. Wenn der Monitor aber Schrott sendet, geht der Treiber davon aus, dass es dein Monitor wohl nicht kann.
Folgende Zeile löste mein Problem (Device Sektion der Gafikkarte):
Option "UseEDID" "FALSE"
Das EDID kann man angucken in dem man den X mit -logverbose 6 startet (startx -- -logverbose 6)
Viel Glück!

Da sind alle Möglichen Optionen gelistet:
