i have a strange thing going on my laptop...
everytime i emerge phoenix-cvs it randomly "beeps" while compiling... i don't know why it keeps on doing this... 0_o
i hope rsyncing fixes this... i'll try it this afternoon... |

rsycning won't solve this problem - it comes from the base mozilla code - something about the length of lines for some of the compiler includes or something.
You can googel for "beeping mozilla" for more info, but it won't go away.
I get over this by emergeing mozilla from an xterm that has visualbell turned on, that way the term window flashes rather than beeps. You can search the forums for hints on turning off beeping on normal consoles |

You could also try using screen. It has visual bell enabled by default and it's great for long emerges. I find it handy for starting an emerge in the morning, then I can log in later from work to see how it's going. |
