I'm getting the following when I try to fun alsamixer. It was working fine.

alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device

Sounds like the alsa modules aren't loaded for some reason. Did you use the kernel based alsa or alsa-driver? If kernel based, did you compile support directly into your kernel or as modules? If as modules, do you have the alsasound init script added to the boot runlevel? _________________

After you did that did you remember to run "etc-update add alsasound boot" ? Also, did you remember to configure your soundcard in /etc/modules.d/alsa ? _________________
