Fluxbox apparently detects programs it knows about when you first install it. How can I get it to do this again, once I have a new program, without erasing it and rebuilding? (Yes, I know how to edit the menu file, but I'm lazy. ) |

Are you asking for help with the masked ebuild?
In that case.. Code: | # ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge genmenu | ;) _________________ What if God smoked cannabis...

This really helped with my own fluxbox configuration. Are there similar tools for KDE or GNOME? |

You might want to try Wmconfig, but I never tried it.. Not sure if it automatically generates menus or just lets you edit them..
I think there are also tools to convert menus from various window managers to KDE and/or Gnome menus.. might want to try generating something for your fluxbox and then convert it to KDE somehow.. :) _________________ What if God smoked cannabis...

If its for editing Windowmaker menus I don't see a use for it, WindowMaker has its own drag and drop menu editor that's very easy to use, one of its features that I miss a lot. Debian had an automatic multiple architecture menu generator that worked with nearly any window manager, "update-menus", that you could just run after an apt-get of a GUI program and have that program added to any and all of your window manager menus. I wish something like it was available that is not Debian-specific. (Of course, remaining complient with all of Debian's tools might be something that slows package development down under Debian.) |

there will be, freedesktop.org issued a standard for menus, so it has been said that the almighty devs are on the case. |
