utils/link-modules /var/tmp/portage/media-sound/alsa-driver-1.0.14_rc1/work/alsa-driver-1.0.14rc1

ALSA modules were successfully compiled.

I just downloaded linux-2.6.19.1 so I could get the k8temp module. :-)

Use gentoo-sources rather than vanilla-sources for now.

I need kernel 2.6.19 because I'm trying to get the k8temp module/ksensors working.

gentoo sources was only kernel-2.6.18-r3

gentoo sources was only kernel-2.6.18-r3
http://www.gentoo-portage.com/sys-kernel/gentoo-sources. The 2.6.19 kernel is available; it's just masked.

I am using 2.6.19-gentoo-r1 now and alsa works. :-)
