acx111-networkcard doesnt load firmware

hi

i got an acx111-networkcard (wireless) in my computer. the kernel-module needs to load a firmwarefile
placed in
/lib/firmware
the same kernelmodule with the same firmware worked fine with archlinux and mandriva. now with gentoo the module loads but says via dmesg
firmware not provided - check your hotplug-scripts.

anyone an idea?
