Winamp 3.0 Alpha 1 for Linux Released
Nullsoft announces a new version of Winamp for Linux:

Nullsoft has also released Winamp 3.0, Alpha 1 for Linux. Built on a new coding platform named "Wasabi", Winamp 3 offers a module setup allowing any component of Winamp to be removed or replaced. This allows third party developers more freedom to customize the program.

Available as rpm package at http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Winamp_3_for_Linux/1002748075/1

Now who can put it up in portage?

Winamp 3.0 Alpha 1 for Linux is out for years (since 2001)...
And who cares for Winamp anyway?

haha.. this was a funny one
just the name makes it unfit.. and why would anyone want to use it when there are better, free (as in freedom) alternatives? reminds me of Nero (burning app)
...at least this means that companies is starting to realize that windows is not the only OS out there.

Don't complain about anything that is free (not free as in open but free as in your not paying for it). And Yes I am always glad to see alternatives out there. I just hope that Nullsoft can pick up the pace on working on Winamp for linux.

Holy crap, that's old. I remember them doing that. Nothing ever came of it.

Note the release date on the page (October 9, 2001)
