Hi,
i just compiled kde and now i have a problem:
I dont want to login graphical by KDM. How can I make the startx command starting kde after logging in at textmode ? The User documentation says nothing about that.

if you don't want to do it that way, you can edit /etc/rc.conf and at the very end, uncomment the XSESSION variable and put kde in. that will make kde log in globally for all users, and it will make you have one less dot file in your home dir, which i think is a real plus. |

Just doing this does not solve the problem. then startkde reports: "could not connect to xserver"
@blamothe for having less dot files theres another way: put it in /etc/X11/xinitrc
I solved the problem now with your help. Thank you!
but now there a more probs with kde |
